This past December, the Board of the Foggy Bottom Association was surprised and grateful to receive a bequest from the estate of former FBA President Eleanor M. Becker.
The gift will allow the FBA to host a springtime event in honor of Ellie. Preliminary plans for such a celebration are underway.
Ellie was a force in the Foggy Bottom community. In addition to serving in FBA leadership positions, she published the original version of the Foggy Bottom News, which she also hand-delivered to recipients. She was involved in most of the major decisions made by the community, including the application for Historic District designation in 1987.
