Pulitzer Prize winning Washington Post columnist Colbert King announced on June 21 that he would retire in September 2025. Mr. King’s columns on the District of Columbia, politics, and current events have been must-reads for 35 years. Some of those columns are influenced by his experience growing up in the Foggy Bottom/West End neighborhood when it was majority African American. Mr. King was kind enough to share his very moving experiences with the Foggy Bottom Association and the West End Citizens Association. We interviewed him in 2022 and you can see that interview here. We also did a post on his recent talk to WECA in May of this year. We wish Mr. King and his wife Gwen all the best and we will miss his regular columns.
