Foggy Bottom News On-Line Update!

From 2004 through at least 2006, the Foggy Bottom Association’s Foggy Bottom News was published in the now-defunct Georgetown Current. George Washington University’s Gelman Library Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) has generously digitized those two years and you can access them here, as well as the Foggy Bottom News back to 1958 here. Even better, Dalton Alves of SCRC did some “web archaeology” and uncovered PDF editions of the Foggy Bottom News from 2008 to 2013! These will be added to the collection. We value our relationship with Brigette Kamsler and the GWU library staff and thank them so much for their support.

When the Current filed for bankruptcy in 2018, The Foggy Bottom News switched to an email/PDF edition starting with the June 21, 2018 edition through April 16, 2021. Since April 30, 2021, the Foggy Bottom News has been emailed to Foggy Bottom Association members.

After Foggy Bottom resident Ellie Becker (1932-2015) left as editor of the FB News she published a one to two page xeroxed edition of the Foggy Bottom Chronicle, but we only have a few pages of this publication.

Check out the Foggy Bottom News online – the recently-added editions (2004-2006) are at the top of the page, with more to come.

It appears that the Foggy Bottom News was published between 2013 and 2018.We have a few issues (published in the Current) from this period. Do you have copies of those editions?  Let us know and we can ask GWU to add to the digital collection.
